“ Great selection of real Russian food. In addition to fresh baked items I get bags of frozen pelmeni/ an easy to make delicious dinner ”
“ Updated Review: we decided to give it another try and was really glad we did. This time we decided to sit in the little restaurant inside the store and eat. This was much better, the food was delicious. It was a cold rainy day so I ordered the Borscht. It was fresh, the meat was tender, and it had a lot of flavor. My spouse had potato pirogies and stuffed cabbage rolls. Both were amazing! The ladies working the counter and service were very kind. They did a great job at making sure tables were cleaned up quickly so customers could sit. All in all we left feeling very full and happy. ”
“ Wonderful!! What a selection. Meat, cheese, fish, bakery delicacies, everything!! Worth the drive. Just excellent! ”
“ This is my favorite place in Portland. My family immigrated to Los Angeles from Kiev. We are a blend of Ukranian(Mom) and Russian/Jew mix(Dad) and both are long gone and I married an American and hardly ever speak Russian with anyone now. So I come here and order my all time favorite poppy seed pastry (rugelach) that I seem to only be able to find in Russian markets. It's my favorite pastry of all times and it's $3.50. There is something about unrolling and eating each flaky crusty poppy seed layer by layer that is just heaven. They also have lots and lots of other items that are better than any fancy bougie place in Portland. Their fresh baked breads that come right out of the oven and are still warm when they put them out. All of the deli meats and cheeses like the veal mortadellas, salamis or Russian havarti. They have hot food and cold salads and if you are like me and live the food but unfortunately never really learned a lot if the recipes you can come get it here. You can now eat in at the tables or take it home and have yourself a proper meal. They also have the best assortment of teas, honey, condiments. Don't forget to try the Kvass it's a fermented drink that we have had long before Kombucha became a thing. Just don't eat all the poppy seed pastries!! I drive clear actoss town to buy these. ”
“ I did a review about 4 years ago! I think the quality of customer service has even went up! They recently opened a cafe; it has delicious Crepes, Shawarmas, yummy Ukrainian Russian snacks & food to go! Great Vibes! The coffee & tea are also very hot & lots of desserts to go with it. They even offer food to go at great prices! Definitely don't skip out on the Russian ice cream It's so delicious. Can't help myself. I get it every time I'm at the store. I'll upload a pic of what the Ice cream looks like! ”
“ Ordered as takeout. Fricassee with chicken and mushroom was really good and better than expected! The honey cake and pierogies were good but not as. ”
